Sox 3, Kansas City 1

Sure, it is nice to get a win. But the Sox are still playing pretty poorly offensively. Joe Crede could not get a runner in from 3rd with one out in the 4th inning, and Uribe failed to get a run in with runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out in the 8th. The Sox have missed a lot of opportunities like that this season, including in last night's 4-3 loss, in which Joe Crede hit into an inning-ending double play with the bases loaded and one out. Konerko also failed in the 9th inning of the 4-3 loss to the Indians. If the Sox succeed in the earlier two games, they are likely 4-2 (with the Toons also 4-2) and they would be looking much better this season. Execution with men on third and two outs is something we should be watching over the next few weeks.
